5th Gen Charters is owned by Captain Blake Barley. A fifth-generation Floridian, he grew up fishing the waters of Pine Island sound. The captain invites you to join him in St. James City and explore the area’s near coastal waters and flats, all full of interesting fish to catch. Bring your family or friends and embark on your next fishing adventure in Florida!
The vessel you’ll use is a 16’ Skeeter SX2250 bay boat powered by a 250 HP Yamaha SHO engine. The boat is equipped with dual power poles and a wireless trolling motor allowing for maximum versatility. Captain Blake also has SafeFloor installed throughout the boat for added comfort. Up to 4 anglers can come aboard.
On your trip, your group and the captain will be targeting Snook, Speckled Trout, Mangrove Snapper, and Redfish. To attract them, you’ll use spinning on light tackle. If you wish, you can keep the fish you catch and take it home. The captain will be happy to clean it for you after the trip is over.
The captain provides all the fishing rods, reels, tackle, live bait, lures, and licenses, as well as snacks and drinks. If you’d like to bring kids on your trip, ask the captain about special pricing for kids’ trips. Also, keep in mind that alcohol isn’t allowed during the trip.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Don’t book with another before you’ve gone out with Blake. I’ve been on many charters, and I can honestly say that I will not be booking with anyone other than Blake from now on! He was very knowledgeable about the waters and had some secret spots that proved well worth the trip. My six year old daughter came, and he worked so well with her and made her feel so important, that meant a lot to me. She is already begging for another trip! We had an absolute blast and I can’t wait to go again!

Our family of 4 had an absolutely wonderful day fishing with Capt. Blake. He is enthusiastic, well versed on the waters, polite and best of all put us on the fish! He was willing to move around when the bites weren’t there. We had an individual with mobility issues and Capt. Blake made sure he was well taken care of. Will definitely plan to fish with Blake again.
