A J Brown Charters is a guided fishing adventure out of Cedar Key Florida. I fish a 22′ Morgan center console boat, where I fish the flats and backcountry of Cedar Key. I have half day and full day trips that are family friendly!

Cedar Key is located on the west coast of Florida, about an hour west of Gainesville. We have amazing fishing here; I’ve been fishing the area almost 40 years. I’ll guide you to Redfish, Trout, Sheepshead, Mango Snapper, Black Drum, and Silver Trout. I also fish the channels for Shark, Cobia, and Tarpon.

While in season, Redfish, Trout, Sheepshead, Mangrove Snapper, and Cobia are some of the best table fare you could ask for. I’ll let you know what fish are in season, and what the size regulations are while we’re out on the water. At the end of the trip, I’ll fillet the day’s catch and send you home with a full cooler!

All tackle is supplied, but feel free to bring your own; check with your guide concerning amount and styles. You’ll want to pack your camera to capture the area wildlife and what you reel in. Groups of four fit comfortably in the boat. And we have all USCG Certified Safety Equipment. The boat is able to accommodate those in a wheelchair. Check with the guide if you have any other requests or questions prior to our fishing trip.

We can go bottom fishing, drift fishing, or spinning. Whether you are an experienced angler, or new to the sport, I’m happy to teach you the proper techniques required for reeling in your catch. I’m happy to help bait the hook and de-hook after you’ve landed your catch. It’s always a thrill to watch someone land their first fish, I look forward to experiencing that with you!
