Alaskan Gamefisher, located in Soldotna, offers the finest Alaska fishing charters and lodging. They specialize in private Alaskan fishing charters for one or multiple days.
Captain Mel Erickson, the owner and head Guide of Alaskan Gamerfisher welcomes you to a fishing adventure like none other. Captain Mel has been guiding the waters of Alaska for decades and loves to share his knowledge with anglers of all skill levels.
For your Alaskan Gamefisher charter you will be welcomed aboard a 30ft offshore Sport Fisherman vessel powered by two 250HP Yamaha engines. This vessel comes equipped with all the navigation and safety gear necessary for you to have a productive and successful trip. With plenty of room for your group to fish, or relax, and a restroom on board, this vessel has everything you need for a comfortable day of fishing.
Alaskan Gamefisher and Captain Mel will provide the gear you need for a successful fishing charter. Your rods, reels, tackle and fresh or live bait are included. They will fillet your catch for no charge, and it will be taken to their processor for vacuum sealing and freezing. The processor will hold your cumulative catch during your visit and then box it for you to take with you as additional luggage or ship it overnight to you home. There will be an additional fee for this service. You will need to purchase a fishing license, and if you are doing a salmon trip, a King Salmon stamp is required. Captain Mel recommends you bring a camera, gloves, warm clothing (and dress in layers), waterproof footwear, a full set of rain gear and, if you are doing a saltwater trip, sea sick medication.
Captain Mel and Alaksan Gamefisher offer both salwater and Kenai River fishing charters. You can choose a saltwater trip where you will be targeting the giant Pacific Halibut. Or you can choose to go Alaskan Salmon fishing on Kenai River. This area is world-famous for producing the largest King Salmon on the planet. Captain Mel utilizes bottom fishing for Halibut and fly fishing for Salmon.
