He then ran several large sportfishing boats out of Seward for a number of seasons. With well over a decade of experience fishing Alaskan waters, Capt. Bob has some impressive catches to his name. In 2015, Anchor Down Sportfishing was established.

Our fishing charters take place aboard the lovely 38ft catamaran “Renegade” that was custom built in Port Angeles Washington and brought up to Seward to go to work. Powered by Twin 350HP Yamaha outboards, full walk around deck, galley with seating for 10, this boat was built for speed and comfortability and is perfect for fishing the waters of Alaska. Cruising speeds between 26-28 knots means less time traveling and more time for fishing!

With a nice boat comes great equipment. We use top of the line gear with Seeker Rods and Shimano Reels. We also supply the bait and clean your catch for you at the end of the trip. Captain Bob and his crew will take care of all the duties, so you don’t need to worry about anything other than fishing!

Our fishing trips target different species depending on the time of the year. Some fish you could see swimming the waters of South Alaska include Cod, King Salmon, Coho Salmon, Ling Cod, Halibut, and Rockfish just to name a few.
