2 Hour Trip – Eco Tour Fun Fishing
Captain Jon-Paul was so much fun to fish with! Besides making our beginner trip a breeze, we loved learning all about the aquatic ecosystem of the Florida Keys. He was extremely knowledgeable as a fellow science person. Caught lots of red snapper and a few sport fish, and had a delicious dinner. The charter was extremely good value and we’d definitely recommend Captain Jon-Paul to any friends looking to start out fishing in the Keys!

2 Hour Trip – Eco Tour Fun Fishing
I would highly recommend going fishing with Captain Jon-Paul from Bank and Bight Backcountry fishing. My 15 year old son and I came down to Islamorada for a Mom/son getaway for a few days and all my son wanted to do was catch fish we could eat (sea to table). Captain Jon-Paul delivered and then some!!
I was a little apprehensive going on a fishing charter just my son and I (especially since I’m not an avid fisherman), but the minute we got to the boat and met Captain Jon-Paul, I was at ease. Besides being a Park Ranger, he is also a Biologist and he was SO knowledgeable of everything. He made our trip so much fun and exciting. He took us to multiple spots and the fish were biting like crazy!!! It was the best fishing I have done and my son was so happy!
I can’t wait to come back down to Islamorada and go back out fishing with Captain Jon-Paul!!

My wife and I booked a half-day morning trip with Jon-Paul are so glad we did! Jon-Paul was an unbelievably knowledgeable and fun guide with a great sense of humour!
In the short time we had, Jon-Paul took us to various locations (flats, deep drop-offs, mangroves, man-made structures, etc) and targeted several different species for us. Our catch for the day included yellowtails, groupers, bonnethead sharks, mangrove snappers, and many more! Jon-Paul made the trip incredibly easy for us by selecting the bait, telling us where to cast, and help with handle the fish. Even my wife, who has never gone fishing, had a fantastic time and was catching fish all day long (including the biggest yellowtail of the day!).
Jon-Paul’s wildlife conservation background really added a lot to our experience as well and helped us learn a ton about not only the fish, but the region as a whole. We would definitely recommend Jon-Paul to ANYONE looking to catch fish, learn something about the region, and overall have a fantastic time on the water!
