Tarpon Springs is on the West Coast of Florida, just north of Clearwater. Whether you live in the area or just visiting, your day only gets better once you step aboard our 30’ Sport Fisherman. Powered by twin 225 HP Honda motors, we get to the fishing grounds fast and dry. On board we have top-of-the-line navigational equipment (GPS, Radar, and Fishfinder) and electronics (best multimedia system around!). The cabin is nice a large with a bed and toilet available. And all Safety Features have been Certified by the United States Coast Guard. We can go trolling, bottom fishing, jigging, spinning, or fishing with light tackle. Bottoms Up Fishing Excursions has the experience and knowledge for any of these techniques and is happy to share with you the ins and outs of each. Captain Carlos is a patient teacher and welcomes anglers of all ages to learn a new-to-you technique! In the Gulf of Mexico we have opportunity to catch Grouper, Tuna, Amberjack, Snapper, Tripletail, Sea Bass, Porgy, Hogfish, Flounder, Cobia, and more! Depending on the season determines what we’ll bring catch and what we keep. Your trip comes with fishing licenses for all passengers, rods, reels, bait, lures, and tackle. We’ll also clean and package your catch at the end of the trip, and can point you to some really good restaurants that can cook it up for you! Half day or full day Gulf of Mexico fishing trips are available – as well as a great family option that is three hours – perfect for those with young kids or new-to-fishing families! This shorter trip is ideal for families as the kids sometimes get a little tired from reeling in all those fish. So, you will fish in protected waters, up to 7 miles out, catching Snapper, Grouper, Grunts, Spanish Mackerel, Sheepshead, Cobia. We do not provide live bait on this trip.

On this trip, we will focus on the many different varieties of Shark species available. We have Blacktips, Atlantic Sharpnose, Nurse, and Lemon Shark abundant. We do not provide live bait on this trip.

Coral Bottom Trip

Trip Details

This trip allows us to fish farther to the coral bottom areas which have larger fish and a larger variety of species. Species targeted on this trip include Cobia, Grouper, Flounder, Amberjack and more. Rods, Reels, Tackle, Lures, Bait and Fishing License are all included. You keep your catch and the crew will clean and fillet it for you when you return to shore. There is even a restaurant near by that will cook your catch for you.

Full Day Trip

You will be fishing up to 30-40 miles South or North of the starting location, and up to 9 miles offshore. You will target the big boys - massive Groupers and Snappers, and other bottom-dwelling creatures.

Half Day Trip (PM)
After several failed attempts to get out when we were here in Spring due to high winds we finally got out with the Bottoms Up crew during our October trip to NPR. We had a great day of fishing and Captain Jeremy kept us on fish all afternoon. The 6 of us brought in around 70 fish, mainly Grey Snapper, and released around 30 more of the smaller fish. Jeremy and Noah were extremely helpful to bait hooks and unhooking the fish. We had a great meal of fish tacos and left the bulk of the filets with a relative who lives in NPR. Strongly recommend these guys!

Full Day Trip
We went on a full day excursion with Captain Carlos and Jeremy. We were on fish as soon as we hit our first stop. Captain kept us on fish all day. He and Jeremy were so fun and informative. If a fish cut the hook, there was immediately another pole in our hands while they tied a new one on. If you were out of bait, they were right there to put on new bait. They knew exactly where to go and how to position the boat. Captain Carlos also recommended a great restaurant that cooked our fresh catch for us! It was such an amazing experience with great tunes and great guys. We definitely recommend any length trip with Bottoms Up Fishing Excursions!

6 Hour Coral Bottom Fishing Trip
The odds were kind of against us with hot weather and the red tide, but the captain kept us on fish and we had a great time. We did the 6 hour daytime excursion and probably caught 70+ fish including grey snapper, mangrove snapper, gag grouper, red grouper, and several miscellaneous fish. First mate was great, kept our lines baited, and filleted our fish at the end. I plan on going again within the next couple of years.
