Captain Cleve Hancock of Brown Dog Sportfishing invites you to join in on the fun on the productive waters surrounding Mount Pleasant, South Carolina in Folly Beach. Captain Cleve grew up fishing in Florida before making South Carolina his home. He has been fishing the waters of South Carolina for over 10 years now specializing in fly and light tackle fishing. Captain Cleve is a patient Captain and he enjoys teaching people all that these waters have to offer. Captain Cleve is a USCG licensed Captain. He’s passionate about fishing so bring your best bud or family along for an educational and fun day on the water with Brown Dog Sportfishing. You and your guest will be fishing from Captain Cleve’s 18’ flats boat powered by a 140HP Suzuki engine. His vessel can accommodate 2 anglers comfortably. A GPS, fish finder, and VHF radio are some of the modern electronics outfitted on his boat. The boat is also equipped with USCG approved safety gear as well as a live well for fresh bait, a poling platform, and power poles. A cooler is on board to store your snacks and drinks you bring along. On your trip with Brown Dog Sportfishing all of the rods, reels, tackle, and lures will be supplied. Fly fishing gear, the fishing license for you and your guest, and fresh bait will be provided as well. You and your guest will hit the inshore waters, and the flats and back county waters of South Carolina on the trip of your choice. Whether it’s a half day trip, ¾ day trip, or a full day trip, Captain Cleve will make the most of your time on the water with Brown Dog Sportfishing. Half Day Trip (Afternoon)
We had a great afternoon on the water with Cleve! He checked in with us that morning because the forecast was for steady rain, offering to reschedule but willing to go if we wanted (even offering up extra rain gear if we needed it). Since it was our last day in town we opted to fish, and we were not disappointed. Cleve put us on fish immediately and explained exactly where to cast and how to work the baits to get us started. Catching reds in the shallow, grassy creeks on light tackle was a bucket list trip for me. We boated 6 reds and a flounder and very much enjoyed Cleve’s company. He is a competent guide, who was also very personable and not overbearing. Willing to help and offer advice when needed, but also willing to just stand in the back and quietly pole us on to the next school of fish. I would highly recommend for anyone in the Charleston area looking to experience this unique and thrilling kind of fishing!

Half Day Trip (Morning)
What an unbelievable day on the water! We are two parents with little to no fishing experience. Our son was bitten by the fishing bug at the age of three. His 10th birthday wish was to fish the inter coastal waters of Folly Beach and Cleve was our captain. We arrived at 8:00 am and our captain was in the water ready to fish. The boat was well equipped and spotless! Captain Cleve was ready to fish and so was our son. Within the first 30 minutes our son landed a 27 inch redfish!!!! We could have ended right there but Captain Cleve had several more spots to fish. Our son caught, I think, 12 fish and would have preferred to fish an additional four hours. Captain Cleve was an absolute professional and we sincerely look forward to our next outing.

Top shelf captain and equipment. Fish on a few minutes after the first bait hit the water. Captain Cleve is very knowledgeable and serious about fishing. He moved around to make sure we stayed hooked up with some very nice redfish and a few trout as well. Would not hesitate to book this trip again and again.
