Fishing off the coast of Playa Flamingo, Costa Rica is on countless angler’s bucket list for one reason: The abundance of drag screaming gamefish that are consistently caught 12 months a year. Cacique Sportfishing Flamingo specializes in both inshore fishing trips, and full day nearshore excursions.

Captain William Moran will be at the helm of his well-kept 22ft Panga center console. Smooth seas will allow you to head further off the coast, but the ample inshore fishing opportunities will blow you away! She’s powered by a 115hp Yamaha engine and onboard you’ll find an assortment of fishing technology that Capt. William will use to make sure you stay on the fish during the entire trip. Cacique Sportfishing Flamingo’s outriggers and downriggers make it easy to troll multiple lines at different depths and different distances off the stern of the vessel, depending on which species you’re targeting.

On Cacique Sportfishing Flamingo’s inshore fishing trips, you’ll be using different fishing techniques to target Roosterfish, Cubera Snapper, Spanish Mackerel, Jack Crevalle, Barracuda, and many other hard fighting species. While trolling further off the coast, you can expect to hook up on Wahoo, Mahi Mahi, Sailfish, Yellowfin Tuna, and Skipjack. Roosterfish are Captain William’s specialty, as many anglers travel to Costa Rica with the sole goal of crossing Roosterfish off their bucket list. They’re one of the hardest fighting fish in the sea, you’ll know when you’ve hooked up on one!

Included in the trip cost for the day is all of the rods and reels you’ll be using, fresh/live bait, artificial lures, a first mate, and the Cacique Sportfishing Flamingo team will clean your catches so you can head home with fresh fillets. Your first mate will be hard at work for you for the entirety of the trip rigging all of the lines, helping you while you’re hooked up on rod busting Roosterfish, and making sure every fish is pulled into the boat.

Book your Playa Flamingo fishing charter today, Captain William Moran will great you on the dock with an eager smile! As no two clients are ever the same, no two fishing trips with Cacique Sportfishing Flamingo are the same. This is YOUR trip; Capt. William will do everything in his power to accommodate your needs!

3 Hour – Fishing/Snorkeling (PM)
I decided to book this trip last minute and from the very first contact everything was excellent. Booking confirmation within minutes, messages from the Captain etc….communication was great. On the boat, Captain William was awesome, teaching my boys the different techniques and taking us to different sites to fish. Such a nice guy and passionate about what he does, which made a real difference to our experience. To top it off, on our way back we had the most beautiful sunset and got to see a humpback whale!!! Captain William - Thank you!

3/4 Day Trip – Inshore
William is the real deal! He is a very friendly and knowledgeable guide who has lots of great stories and knows how to catch big fish. I did a 3/4 day when the fishing was slow for everyone on the water. Captain William still managed to put me on a 45 lb Rooster, a great Jack and some other great fish as well. I am a fishing guide in Montana and fully understand and appreciate how hard William worked to make the day successful and fun. Book him, he is the man! Cacique!!

Half Day Trip – Inshore (PM)
Great.communication when booking, confirming a few days before and in general. Easy directions (we drove from Tamarindo about 25 min). Plenty of parking in dirt lot that had an attendant. It’s free but we gave him a few bucks. There are no bathrooms in the lot so go before. We just hit the bushes. We had 4 on the boat. Front has shade. They had 5 lines in trolling. We caught one mahi but the wind was bad causing choppy water. Our bad luck. The boat is small, low to water, I don’t think this is ideal for kids under 12 unless they can sit still for your trip. William and Roger were great guys. We enjoyed our time on the water.
