Captain Alan Clowers has spent his life fishing the San Diego Bays and lakes. For the past 25 years he has worked on perfecting his techniques to find and catch the big fish. Captain Clowers Charters is a family friendly charter and welcomes children ages 5 and up.
Depending on the time of year, San Diego Bay is loaded with such as Rockfish, Calico Bass, Bonito, Barracuda, Halibut, Yellowtail, and many more hard fighting and tasty saltwater fish!
Captain Alan looks forward to welcoming you aboard hi 28' Blackman Outer Banks boat that can handle up to 4anglers. She is equipped with all the necessary safety equipment including life jackets and a throw ring. The large “V-berth” allows for a comfortable and stable ride and fishing platform.
Captain Clowers Charters offers three different trip lengths to accommodate your busy schedule. You can choose between our Half Day Morning Trip, Half Day Afternoon Trip, or a Full Day trip. You will get to keep your catch and Captain Alan and his crew will clean and fillet your catch for you and bag it for your trip home.

You’ll need to bring drinks (no glass bottles), snacks, weather appropriate clothing, sunglasses, sunscreen, etc.
Weather cancellations are at your Captain’s discretion, your safety is their number one priority! You will receive a refund for any weather cancellation, or you can choose to reschedule your trip for a different date.

Half Day Trip (AM)

While on your 5 hour, half day morning Bay trip, you will be catching species such as Spotted Bay Bass, Sand Bass, Bonefish, Halibut, Corvina, Bat Rays, Guitarfish, Leopard Sharks, Smooth-hound Sharks, and many more. You will get to keep your catch and Captain Alan and the crew will clean and fillet it for you and bag it for your trip home.
All rods, reels, tackle and fresh or live bait are included. You will need to bring a valid California fishing license. Feel free to bring your favorite snacks and drinks (beer is ok in a can only and No hard liquor) to enjoy on your trip. Captain Alan also recommends sunscreen, hat, sunglasses (preferably polarized), rubber boots, sandals or old shoes (the deck can get messy), a large cooler for you catch when you return to the dock. And don't forget your camera. You'll want it to grab the perfect shot of your Catch of the Day.

On these 5-hour charters, we fish local inshore and bay. We target calico bass, rockfish, barracuda, bonito, halibut, spotted baybass, sand bass, and yellowtail if they are in this trip's range. This trip is a fun trip for families with kids and novice anglers. It’s mostly calm water and easy fishing.
Full Day Trip

While on your 8 hour we fish close to shore around Point Loma and along the coast. It’s an inshore trip targeting the species in the 8-hour range, such as rockfish, calico bass, bonito, baracuda, halibut, and yellowtail if they are in the 8-hour range. You will get to keep your catch and Captain Alan and the crew will clean and fillet it for you and bag it for your trip home. All rods, reels, tackle and fresh or live bait are included. You will need to bring a valid California fishing license.
