Hello and welcome to Carson’s Guide Service! We have been guiding anglers for Salmon and Steelhead here in Southern Oregon for 20yrs. Carson’s Guide Service is dedicated to catching quality fish; here is our yearly schedule: Spring Chinook – May – June At this time of year we will be fishing on the Upper Rogue River. I have my clients stay in Shady Cove, Ore. It’s located 30 minutes North of Medford. We fish for Spring Salmon and mainly back bouncing roe or run plugs. Fall Chinook – July thru October During this season we move to the coast and fish the Mouth of the Rogue River in Gold Beach, Oregon. We mainly troll anchovies in the bay for bright Chinook Salmon in July and August until they start migrating upriver (which starts in September). During this time we will be fishing the Lower Rogue River in Agness, Oregon. If you are a conventional gear fisherman: we will be side drifting roe or running plugs/lures. If you are a Fly Fisherman: we will be indicator fishing with beads and yarn balls. Carson’s Guide Service is able to accommodate 2 anglers in the 18ft Drift Boat. Included is your fishing gear, rods & reels, tackle, bait & flies. We’ll also clean, fillet, and bag your catch. All you need to bring is your Oregon fishing license. Also be sure to wear appropriate clothing for the weather/temperatures: layers may be best.
