Fishing Report
March 01, 2020
Fly Fishing on the Kenai River this winter has been tough with the weather consistently being below freezing for many months. Recently, the Kenai River has been accessible due to higher temperatures. We are mainly fishing with streamers and stone flies/nymphs and if you can find a pocket of fish, chances are that you'll get into a number of good sized rainbow trout. Moving through March and into late April, Rainbow Trout will begin to congregate in certain areas of the river to begin their pre-spawn rituals. Bigger and more aggressive fish will be easier to find during this window. Egg patterns, nymphs and streamers work well during this time period. Be sure to check regulations and take extra special care of the fish during these vulnerable times. Best of luck out there and Tight Lines! Dave Lisi Cooper Landing Fishing Guide, LLC
