Having been fishing these waters for over 25 years, you have experience on your side when dropping a line off of the Emma J. Trips are launched out of the Cheboygan County Marina or the Mackinaw City Marina depending on the time of year. Fishing is done in the lake waters from Hammond Bay to Mackinaw City, along with the Straits of Mackinac. Families with children are always welcome aboard the Emma J, along with fishermen and fisherwomen from novice to pro.
Anglers will fish aboard a 26’ Center Console, equipped with the latest in safety, navigation, and fishing equipment. This includes Humminbird chart plotters, radar, and fish finders, along with a cooler to keep your catch fresh.
Although a variety of fishing methods produce on Lake Huron, anglers aboard the Emma J can expect to be primarily trolling or bottom fishing. Fish cleaning and packaging service is available, and tackle and bait are included in the price of the trip. The vessel is equipped with the finest tackle that Okuma has to offer, along with all necessary equipment for trolling at depth, which is what the fishfinder may call for.
Emma J Sportfishing Charters offers two trips per day; a morning trip and an evening trip. The most common target for anglers aboard the Emma J is the King Salmon. This is a favorite of the crew as well, as Emma J Sportfishing prides itself on its ability to put multiple anglers on 30+ pound fish each season. An early morning trip in the summer months is your best bet at joining the crew’s 30 pound club, however fish are caught year round.

Weather cancellations are at your Captain’s discretion, your safety is their number one priority! You will receive a refund for any weather cancellation, or you can choose to reschedule your trip for a different date.
