If you’re up for an enjoyable day on the water chasing all kinds of exciting and hard pulling fish offshore in the Gulf of Mexico then Exit Strategy Fishing Charters is the way to go. We operate private party federally permitted offshore charters for up to 6 passengers year round out of Cape Coral, Florida. Captain Skip Johnson and his deck hand will guide you to the area’s fish-rich waters, reefs, and wrecks and make sure you have a great angling experience. The boat you’ll be fishing from is a very roomy and comfortable 30’ Robalo center console with twin 300 horsepower outboard engines that can accommodate up to 6 passengers, the vessel provides a private bathroom that has a freshwater sink and flushing toilette. Our boat is rigged with modern state of the art equipment including an EPIRB, GPS, dual large screen high power fish finders with side and down scan plus traditional sonar, VHF radio, autopilot, radar and a GPS Spot Lock trolling motor anchoring system to locate and most importantly stay on top of the fish and structure that the fish live in without having to waste valuable fishing time setting and pulling the anchor. To name just a few of the many species of fish you could catch on your trip, there’s Mangrove Snapper, Lane Snapper, Red Snapper, Vermilion Snapper, Red Grouper, Gag Grouper, Scamp Grouper, Goliath Grouper, Cobia, Barracuda, Jack Crevalle, Triple Tail, Kingfish, African Pompano, Amberjack, Blackfin Tuna, Mahi and more. The length of the trip and distance we run offshore will have a large influence on the species and size of fish caught. On 7 and 9 hour trips we run 10 to 35 miles offshore, the fish tend to average a little smaller but are plentiful and very good eating. The typical species for our 7 and 9 hour trips are Red Grouper, Lane, Vermillion and Mangrove Snapper and Porgy. Our 10 and 12 hour trips will sometimes run as far as 80 miles offshore to the Blue Water when calm seas allow and tend to get a variety of larger fish like Gag, Red and Scamp Grouper, Red Snapper, Lane, Vermillion and Mangrove Snapper, Triggerfish, Porgy, Blackfin Tuna, Mahi and on occasion we will run across Wahoo. You will catch them by bottom fishing with high quality spinning rods and reels and/or Shimano two speed conventional rods and reels, all fishing poles, bait, tackle and fishing licenses are included with your charter. You can keep any open season legal sized fish and take it home, fish cleaning and zip lock bagging at the end of the day is included. We welcome and cater to the entire family, just bring plenty of food, drinks, proper clothing, hats, sun glasses and sunscreen. An onboard cooler with ice will be provided for your food and drinks. Please note crew tip is not included in charter pricing, 20% is industry standard and is paid directly to the deck hand.
