12 Hour Trip – Offshore
My group of three had a blast with Captain Eric and the Deck Hand Josh for our full day offshore trip. We were greeted and ready to go by 5am. We filled up, got bait and was out in open water by 6am. The boat has a central restroom and two to three seats on the inside. Captain Eric will provide you with all the essential gear needed for your trip so don’t worry about taking your personal gear. Just bring lunch/ snacks, enough drinks and sunscreen. The Full Day Offshore Trip is perfect for a group up to four anglers. In the early morning we started to troll the waters while we were heading offshore but the morning bite was slow. Captain Eric knew that we were wanting to target some tuna but informed us that the morning bite has been slow in general and we decided to go to Santa Barbara Island to target other quality fish. If the initial bite is slow in the morning take any advice and suggestion that Captain Eric has so he can get biting on some other fish for the time being. The beautiful thing about EZ Sportfishing is the ability to get to a destination quickly. We had to of been the fastest boat out there. Once we arrived at the island we started to bottom fish/ fly lining and was hooking up on some awesome California Black and Red Sheepshead, BIG Calico Bass, Barracuda, Brown Rock Fish, Sculpin and Yellowtail. The bite was consistent and we were having a blast catching these fish. We were catching so much that we decided to do catch and release. In the afternoon Captain Eric and Josh wanted to head out to target Tuna. They both were scouting for foamers/ boils and shortly from our departure from the island we were on Bluefin Tuna and landed them on the deck. Even if we skunked out for the day we still would have been very happy customers just based off the exceptional and fun service onboard. Our entire trip was an A+ experience. Captain Eric and Josh provided us with excellent fishing and we were able to come home with the most fish my group and I have ever caught on a private charter. Exceptional service and we learned a ton from both Captain Eric and Josh about fishing technique. If you’re looking for a real fishing experience with a crew that will work it’s butt off trying to get your desired catch I would only recommend EZ Sportfishing.

Our trip almost didn’t happen. The morning the day before our trip, Capt. Eric reached out and let us know that he lost an engine the day before. As much stress he was under, he came through for us and set us up with another fishing trip on the day of our planned trip. It was a success & we had a lot of fun catching yellow fin, bass, barracuda. We will definitely book with Capt. Eric in the future!

Captain Eric and his First Mate, RANDY, we’re incredible. Great attitude, extremely professional, and put us on the fish immediately. Five of us caught over 60 sand bass in just a few hours. RANDY cleaned the fish on our way back to the dock and we’re having a fish feast tonight. We wii definitely be repeat customers as our Grandkids are now hooked on fishing!!
