What makes Fish King Charters different from any other charter service in the area? Captain Charles is one of only five Captains in St. George that hold Federal Water Permits. The other charter services in the area are restricted to fishing State Waters, which means they can’t fish further than 9 miles off the coast. On your fishing trip with Fish King Charters you’ll be traveling between 30-60 miles off the coast, where the true monsters live!
Being that so few Captains in St. George hold Federal Water Permits, the fishing grounds you’ll be fishing experience extremely low fishing pressure. This allows the gamefish inhabiting these waters to fully mature, growing to trophy sizes you won’t find in State Waters! On your trip with Fish King Charters, the season and your preference will determine what the primary target will be. St. George Island is a year-round fishery, something is always biting! Throughout the year you’ll have the opportunity to hook up on Red Snapper, Mahi Mahi, Amberjack, Wahoo, King Mackerel, Cobia, Tuna, Grouper, and so much more!
Captain Charles Taliaferro will be at the helm of charter boat Fish King, a meticulously well maintained 32ft Cape Horn Center Console. Her powerful twin 300hp Yamaha engines greatly reduce the travel time to the fishing grounds. Less time traveling means more time fishing! Capt. Charles has outfitted the boat with a variety of fishing equipment and all USCG required safety gear. There’s also a toilet on board for your convenience, you’ll be glad it’s there on our longer excursions! To help keep you cool while out on the ocean, there’s misters along the T Top spraying refreshing, cool water.
Your trip cost for the day includes use of tournament quality fishing tackle, as well as a fishing license for everyone on board. A seasoned first mate will be onboard working his tail off to rig the lines, help you with your catch, and provide an enthusiastic atmosphere! If you’re satisfied with your mate’s efforts, a 15-20% tip is always appreciated.
