Fishing Guide Austin is owned and operated by Captain Lee Benton. His passion for bass fishing started at a young age, he grew up on the water and joined his first local bass club at the age of 15. Capt. Lee began fishing bass tournaments shortly after and his success led him to begin professionally guiding trips on several of the local Highland lakes! He was mentored by Mike Hastings, a local legend with over 30 years of professional guiding experience. Capt. Black Bass, also known as Largemouth Bass, will be the primary target on your trip with Fishing Guide Austin. Other species that you can also fish for are White Bass, Hybrid Striper, Striped Bass, and Crappie. Captain Lee will provide everyone on board with tournament quality rods and terminal tackle, you’ll primarily be fishing with artificial lures and baits. However, if you came to Austin with Crappie on your mind, Capt. Lee may have you fishing with live minnows to ensure a successful trip!
Captain Lee welcomes you aboard his 20ft Ranger Bass Boat! She’s been outfitted with the most up to date equipment and electronics, including a fish finder, wireless trolling motor, and power poles. Her trolling motor will have you quietly stalking the shorelines without alerting the nearby gamefish, and the power poles will silently secure the vessel into the shallows once you’re on the fish. Fishing Guide Austin can comfortably fish up to 3 anglers on board at once, not including Capt. Lee.
