The vessel sails out of Wanchese, Outer Banks, a wonderful little fishing community with tons of great fishing spots. With his knowledge of the Outer banks, Captain Doug covers a lot of ground to find the best fishing opportunities for all his customers.

The spacious ‘Fishing Taxi’ sportfishing boat, which provides room for up to 6 people, is built by Ray Hunt. She is powered by 300 HP Twin Cummins engines. She features a flybridge and a huge deck area, and there is a toilet on board for your convenience. Everything is fully decked out for sportfishing, with a fighting chair and outriggers installed to make your trip one to remember.

Fishing Taxi Sportfishing offers a variety of Half Day fishing trips, ranging from four-hour nearshore fishing excursions targeting Bluefish and Spanish Mackerel to Sound Fishing that offer you the chance to drop your hook down from the boat and catch fish at your own pace. Any type of fishing you seek, Fishing Taxis got you covered.

All the gear and lures you will need are provided, so just come along and enjoy a great day on the water with Fishing Taxi Sportfishing. You will want to bring your camera, food/drinks, and weather-appropriate clothes (jackets, light layers, sunscreen and sunglasses). This trip designs the one that don't want to wake up before the sun does. We will take you 45 minutes straight East and control the rest of the time Eastwood until half trip when we turn around and throw back. You will end up somewhere close to 13 to 15 miles off the beach and hopefully find grass beds with plenty of fish. You can be expecting to see mahi or a king mackerel or even a big Albacore and sometimes in August a selfish. This trip is for the person that's tired of fishing on the beach and catching Spanish and blue fish.

This trip will almost get you to the Gulf Stream at a lesser price. We will run an hour and 15 minutes straight East start trolling and by mid trip when we turn around we should be close to 26 miles off the beach. At this point in time we hope that we see mahi leaving Mackle maybe albacore or wahoo sometimes even a selfish. This is an all-day Adventure seeing what we could pull out at the big blue sea.

This trip we will start out taking you and catching our live bait and then we will run 22 miles off Beach to a tower. There we will use the live bait to fish for amberjack barracuda and whatever else might bite. After that we will leave the tower and go look for grass beds while we are trolling searching for a bite on anything from Albacore sailfish fish for my favorite the mahi. This trip gives you a little bit of a fight at the tower and hopefully some meat on the troll.

Captain Doug and Mate Tucker
It was a great trip, very kids friendly. Even though the weather was pretty bad, captain Doug explained the situation and we decided jointly what to do. So we stayed inside and didn’t go near shore which was a very good decision. The kids enjoyed tons (~ 50) of catches and Doug immediately lowered the price from near shore to inside. We had fun altogether and can only recommend Doug and his crew. Special thanks to Tucker who really entertained the kids with bait, knowledge, experience and a shark tracker.
