Capt. Shannon LaBauve will be leading the way on your Texas fishing charter with us. Capt. Shannon was born into a fishing family. Growing up, many of his relatives were professional fishermen and guides. Capt. Shannon now has over 23 years of experience guiding fishing charters. He is a hands-on captain who likes for everyone to catch fish and to have a great time. He will guide every single person in your party on how to catch fish and provide as much assistance you need.

Your fishing trip with Capt. Shannon will take place near Galveston, but Capt. Shannon wants to put you where the fish are biting, so you may end up exploring the waters near Goat Island, Galveston Island, Jamaica Beach, Texas City, League City, Freeport, Bolivar Peninsula, and many other locations along the coastal waters of Texas in the Gulf of Mexico.

Capt. Shannon has a breath-taking 31ft Ocean Master center console that makes fishing in Texas super easy and fun. She is powered by a pair of 300hp Suzuki engines that can take her to cruising speeds of 30 knots. This fishing vessel is equipped with a toilet, 2 GPS units, radar, bottom machine, tournament outriggers, an automatic EPIRB, and 300 gallons of fuel capacity.

We offer 5-8 hour jetty/bay and offshore trips covering the Galveston, TX area. All of our trips provide you with high quality Shimano rods, reels, tackle, and bait. You will need to bring a Texas fishing license with a saltwater stamp before the trip. Capt. Shannon can teach you about the different fishing techniques he uses to catch fish including, jigging, bottom fishing, fly fishing, deep sea fishing, trolling, and spinning.

Our jetty trips allow you the option to target Redfish, Black drum, flounder, and Sharks. On our offshore trips, you can expect to see the likes of Red Snapper, Ling, Kin mackerel, Grouper, Mahi Mahi, Amberjacks, and Wahoo.

For this 8-hour trip, we head out around 6:30 am and return between 2 pm and 5 pm. While on the water, we will be targeting red snapper, kingfish, ling, and dorado (mahi mahi).

Rods, Reels, Tackle and Fresh or Live Bait are included. A Fishing License is not. Please make sure to bring a valid Fishing License with a Saltwater Stamp for everyone in your party.

During this 5-hour trip we will be going 5-15 miles out on the Galveston Bay Beach Front from High Island to the San Luis Pass. This environment is rich for big Sharks, monster Tarpon, Ling and Kingfish.

This trip goes after the afternoon bite of Blacktip Sharks, Tarpon, Kingfish, and Ling on these nearshore Trips. You will usually fish 5-8 miles off the Galveston Beachfront. After shrimp season starts July 15th the action is on. You can catch anywhere from 5-40 sharks per trip with many customers bowing down and worn ou. Other species include Tripletail, Jack Crevalle, Bull Redfish, Spinner Sharks, and Hammerhead Sharks. No Fuel Surcharges added.

Offshore 30-60 mile trip
We had an absolute blast with Captain Shannon. We had so much fun catching monster Red Snappers right off the bat. After we caught all our tags worth, we moved to a reef and caught some gorgeous Mangrove Snappers. We saw reef fish of all species and even caught a puffer fish!!! We caught and released most of our fish due to a long flight home so the ones you see aren’t even all of them! On the way back to shore the Captain surprised us and helped us catch a massive Cobia. It was an experience unlike any other fishing trip and memories we will treasure forever. My husband and I are so thankful we chose Captain Shannon for a Honeymoon experience that was unforgettable!

Full Day Trip - Offshore 25-40 M
My wife, daughter, and I had a wonderful fishing experience. Captain Shannon LaBauve is an excellent captain who has a great boat, knows his fish, and knows where to find them. We caught more fish then expected and were sorry our trip was only 8 hours. He assisted us in every way; from helping bait our lines to catching and hauling the fish in. He also did an excellent job in gutting and filleting the fish the way we wanted. I highly recommend Shannon to anyone who wants to catch fish in the Gulf of Mexico. My wife and I are certainly planning on a return trip.

5 Hour Trip - Nearshore (AM)
Captain Shannon put together a fantastic fishing trip for our honeymoon. My husband and I had a goal for the day: catch one shark. Little did we know we’d end up catching over a dozen! The day started off a little drizzly, but Captain Shannon hopped the boat around the bay to avoid the clouds. The shrimp boats weren’t dragging so he put out a chum bag to draw the sharks to us. It wasn’t long before they started biting. We didn’t sit idle more than 10-15 minutes at a time before another bite. The largest shark we caught is in the attached picture, probably around 3.5’. We attempted to reel in a few larger than that, but they were too powerful and able to snap the line. That’s just the way the cookie crumbles sometimes, and we have no regrets. It was an outstanding trip and we won’t book with anyone but Captain Shannon in the future! Note: My 6’ 4” husband was winded reeling in all these sharks… it takes work! I wasn’t much help being pregnant and so easily winded, but Captain Shannon was helpful and set the reels to ‘granny gear’ to give me more torque so I could accomplish something!
