Fly fishing for Pike and Bass
It was a super fun and productive day chasing pike and largemouth bass with streamers. Jordan had very nice fly rods/reels and multiple (3-4 I think) set ups on the boat ready to go. We used floating line set ups with surface poppers and just slightly sub-surface streamers for the big bass. I think we used mostly a 7&8wt for this. We also used a couple 10wt set up's he had for Pike. We weren't lucky enough to get a Pike to hit the floating line set up, but the sinking line set up on the 10wt hit a few Pike on larger streamers. What a blast! Our largest pike of the day was 30" and the smallest was still in the mid 20's. I was able to get 2 bass over 20" as well. They fight like crazy! So much fun! You should see this guys fly boxes. Holy Cow! His Bay Boat was perfect for this. It had a large raised flat casting platform that was huge on the front of the boat. He had a bow mounted trolling motor that he controlled from a remote from the back, were he guided from. I was the only passenger that day, but think he could have up to 3 people on there fishing at once. Although, I doubt he could have them all fly fishing without a problem. He said that he also does a lot of spin/bait casting trips and some trolling. I'll be hiring him again next time I'm in the Traverse City area.

Great Walleye Fishing
We had a great day/night out fishing for Walleye with Jordan. My wife and I booked a 6 hour trip and we did a mix of trolling and jigging. Our trip started at 3pm and ended just after 9pm, fishing in the dark. He had us start with a troll for a couple hours and we caught a couple nice big ones. He seemed to be scouting for where the were holding and marking them on the graph. He said we would go back to some of those areas for the jigging. We went back and had a fun evening catching them on jigging rods which was really fun. I enjoyed being in control of the rod with his guidance on what to do. We ended up with 7 total keepers. We also ended up with a couple really nice Perch. His boat was perfect for the type of fishing we did. This trip was in early March on Long Lake and we plan to get back out with him in Late May or June. We may try Lake Leelanau next time. I'd recommend him as a guide to anyone. He was super nice and taught us a lot!
