Experience one of our unforgettable fishing trips. Johnny Maddox Charters Sportfishing Adventures, based in Marathon, Florida, provides everything you need to enjoy some of the world's best fishing. Captain Johnny and his experienced captains and crews offer the best and most productive fishing adventures in the tropical paradise of the Florida Keys.

Come aboard Johnny Maddox Charters Sportfishing Adventures for an amazing Florida Keys fishing adventure. We offer Deep Sea, Inshore, Offshore, Reef and Wreck fishing trips in the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico. On the 36’ Bruiel Enterprise we have two 250 HP Detroit engines; a flybridge and fighting chairs. Along with all USCG Certified Safety Equipment and a Multi-Media system; your day on the water will be a great one!

If you want Deep Sea Fishing for dolphin, wahoo, and tuna we can make your dreams come true! We also offer deep dropping to more than 1,000 ft. for snappers and groupers. Other fish we target include sailfish, permit, tarpon, cobia, hog fish, mackerel, and marlins.

You won’t need to bring your own equipment for this sportfishing trip. We provide reels and rods, from the lite-tackle to the trolling gear. (You are more than welcome to bring your favorite rod if you would like.) We also provide your fishing license, the bait, and a cooler with lots of ice. The only thing we don’t provide for your trip is any food or snacks. Also bring plenty of sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, towels, bottled water or your favorite frosty beer. We ask that you DO NOT bring the following items: firearms, drugs, bananas, hard liquor and glass bottles.

Pack your food and drinks, and use the morning well. We'll go after Sharks and Snappers on this trip. It's a great trip for less experienced anglers, but pro fishermen can also have fun.

This trip is a great way to start your morning. You will be fishing around the reefs, explore the waters of the Florida Bay, or the 7 Mile Bridge for Snapper & Grouper, and toothy Critters Sharks. You can encounter lots of big Mackerel when they run. This trip is suitable for groups of 4-5 anglers. You will get the fishing gear onboard, along with the fishing license. You should bring food and drinks. The first mate works only for tips, so leaving gratuity is greatly appreciated.

Half Day – Reef Inshore Gulf (PM)

This trip is great for novice angler or families with kids. This trip will see you fishing around the Florida Bay waters, local reefs and the 7 Mile Bridge. Target species include Snapper, Grouper, as well as Critters Shark and Mackerel, when in season. You will get all the gear, the license, and bottled water. Bring food and drinks, pack a camera, a cap, sunblock, and hop onboard! The first mate's pay are only tips, so leaving some is very appreciated!

3/4 Day Trip – Reef, Wrecks, Gulf

This six hour trip lets you combine the course. You will have a bit of both, blue water and inshore. You can hunt big game offshore in the beautiful, blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean. If you want big blue-water adventures for slammer Dolphin, Wahoo, Billfish, and Tuna, we can make your dreams come true. Or, hit the reefs for Snapper & Grouper. The boat works best with 4-5 anglers. The first mate works purely for trips, so leaving gratuity is very appreciated.

Full Day Trips–Reefs, Wrecks, Gulf

This full day trip is suitable for more experienced anglers. You can go offshore around the Atlantic, looking for Mahi, Wahoo, and Tuna. Full Day Trip
Went out with Captain Maddox and had an amazing time. It was my wife and I and three boys (12, 15, 17). We are not very experienced at fishing, especially salt water, and the captain and first mate were very patient, gave great instructions to the kids (and adults), and worked hard to find us good fishing locations. We caught 16 yellow and mangrove snappers that were keepers and many other fish that weren’t quite large enough or not edible. One of the highlights for my boys was catching a puffer fish that blew up like a balloon. Still laughing about that one a couple days after the trip. My oldest caught a small shark which was fun for him to bring in as well. Overall a great time and I would highly recommend booking the trip with Johnny Maddox.

3/4 Day Trip - Combo
Did a 3/4 day with captain Johnny and Brian. Caught a mixed bag of tuna and mahi and had an amazing day on the water. Captain Johnny made sure we were in the right spots for fish and Brian did a great job with making sure we were constantly baited and hooked up.

We had an amazing day with captain Johnny and Isaac! The kids did great and really enjoyed the fishing trip. Isaac is an amazing first mate. He was so patient with our 3 sons and really took the time to teach them. By the end of the afternoon, they felt like pros! Beautiful day on the water.
