Local Waters and Captain Jeffrey Trafton are located in Grant, Florida. Captain Trafton has been fishing the East Coast of Florida his entire life. He has traveled all over the United Sates mastering his fishing skills. He has decades of experience fishing both the inshore waters as well as the rich Florida backcountry and rivers. Whether you’re a seasoned angler or someone who’s learning the ropes, Capt. Trafton will do his best to make sure you get a fishing experience you won’t forget.
Captain Trafton helms an 18’ Flats boat with a 50HP Evinrude engine. His boat is outfitted with all USCG approved safety equipment. There’s a GPS and fish finder ensuring you’ll spend more time on the fish. His boat is outfitted with a casting platform, power pole, poling platform, and a live well for fresh bait. There’s also a cooler with ice and water on board as well.
On your trip with Local Waters and Captain Trafton, you’ll have all the supplies you need for a successful day on the water. Rods, reels, terminal tackle, lures, live bait, and the fishing license for you and all of your guests is included. Captain Trafton also provides fly fishing equipment for the experienced angler or first-time anglers who want to try something new. Make sure you bring your sunscreen, hat, and sunglasses to shield you from the Florida sun.
Local Waters offers half day trips. You can enjoy a day on the water fly fishing the flats for inshore fish such as Snook, Redfish, Spotted Seatrout, and Tarpon. Or spend the whole day with Captain Trafton and Local Waters targeting Jack Crevalle, Ladyfish, Pompano, and Sheepshead. After your bountiful day on the water you can have your catch cleaned and filleted by Captain Trafton. While on your fishing trip with Local waters you may get a glimpse of the stunning wildlife the Indian River lagoon calls home like Manatees, Dolphins, and several species of shorebirds.
