Your adventure will take place on the captain's 20' sport fishing boat. It runs on a 135HP diesel inboard engine, uses a modern navigation electronics, and can accommodate up to three anglers. The boat is also equipped with outriggers and livewell and features a multimedia system and an ice box. Just please note that we allow three guests but the weight limit is 600 lb. Captain Matthew uses both light and heavy tackle and offers bottom fishing, deep sea fishing, trolling, spinning, jigging, as well as drift fishing.

This trip offers a half day experience on the North shore of Oahu out of the Haleiwa harbor. Being that we are in the middle of the ocean and conditions change daily we offer a multitude of different experiences in this trip. When the water is calm we offer some excellent bottom fishing that includes many different species such as Ulua blue fin Trevally and Uku. When the conditions are too rough to bottom fish we offer a near shore pelagic troll that includes Mahi-Mahi, Wahoo, and Tuna.

A 7-hour fishing trip is the same as a 5-hour fishing trip. The only difference is this trip ends at 1:00 p.m. instead of 11:00 a.m. Some pelagic fish you may catch while trolling include Mahi, Ono, and Tuna to name a few. Customers may take home a portion of their catch based on the size and species.

Half Day Trip
Captian Matt and the charter experience on the Lucky Lass was a blast! It was a short trip to the fishing grounds, and we even got to help catch live bait. Afterwards, we fished using a variety of techniques. Had some stubborn fish early on and a few break offs, but right before we decided to head back in, Matt found us a school of skipjack tuna and it was game on! Matt went the extra mile and had us fishing longer than we were scheduled until the tuna were gone. It was an amazing experience !

Half Day Trip
We booked a half day trip with Captain Matt and we had a blast. He’s extremely personable and we enjoyed spending our 5 hour trip on his boat. We’ve only been fishing a handful of times and he patiently walked us through the entire experience. We ended catching a Big Eye Yellowfin Tuna which he helped clean for us and we enjoyed it as sashimi for dinner. Would highly recommend if you’re looking for fishing on the North Shore.

Had a great time and a wonderful experience for the books. Could not recommend more to book with Captain Matt. Responsive, and flexible and worked with us to ensure we had a great time on the water - which we did. Heard great stories/conversations, and had a fun and scenic North Shore outing. Will plan to book again the next time we make our way to Oahu.
