Captain Pedro Burguera has been a passionate fisherman since the year 2000, and has built up a strong reputation among the Costa Rican angling community. He only works with the best first mates and promises to stop at nothing to get you on fish. Up to 5 guests are welcome aboard his 30’ Envy offshore fishing boat for the thrill of a lifetime. This strong vessel can tackle choppy waters with ease and comes fitted with everything needed for a productive day out. Boasting downriggers and outriggers, you’ll troll an array of waters, while the onboard toilet will cater to your personal needs. Capt. Pedro will even serve up drinks, snacks, and lunch to keep you refreshed. If you have more time to spare, why not take up the offer of lodging for a few nights? In a luxury beachside apartment, you’ll feel like a million dollars. The plush interior is matched only by the stunning pool and private bars and restaurants that will see you rubbing shoulders with the elite. Head out 60 miles to the offshore seamounts where pelagic predators are found in droves. These seamounts offer structure that attract an assortment of baitfish, which in turn attract predatory species to prey on them. You can expect to catch Blue Marlin, Striped Marlin, Sailfish, Mahi Mahi, Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, and more!

If you are looking for a one of a kind Marlin fishing experience that cannot be matched anywhere else in the world, this is the trip for you!, Max 4 persons, 100+ miles off Herradura is more than EPIC , leaving Playa Herradura to the Seamounts at 5am, arriving around 9 AM to the FAD where fishing is second-to-none , fish to 4 PM and head back to Playa Herradura , approximated arriving time 9 PM.

Full Day Trip
I cannot recommend a better vessel, crew or captain than that of the Luminaire. They put us on a yellowtail and a Big Eye Tuna within 20 minutes of arriving to the fishing spot. Hundreds of spinner dolphins circled us letting us know tunas we’re also around. After this catch we headed out a bit further to go for the bigger fish. We then pulled in the largest Mahi we have ever caught that measured 54 inches to the split tail. One more a bit smaller after that, see photos. The adventure continued with some trolling for sailfish, Marlin or wahoo. We trolled with 7 lines, 2 dredges and 2 teasers. Action exploded when we hooked 3 sailfish AT ONCE! One got off pretty quick which was fine because there were only 2 of us fishing. We reeled in 2 huge sailfish successfully and what a damn thrill! See pics! If you are looking for a professional fishing crew and vessel, go with The Luminaire. They are not necessarily only in the Los Suenos areas. They will travel to Quepos, Jaco, or surrounding areas. If you need farther, still contract Captain Pedro. He is very quick with his reply. LETS GO FISHING!!

Full Day Trip
I have been part time fish guiding in British Columbia on and off most of my adult life and chartered fish boats in different parts of the world including Costa Rica on several occasions. Pedro and his crew (which consisted of 2 deck hands and one co captain ) were amazing right from coming onto the boat to the awesome cuisine served. After finding the spinner dolphins (which were on an estimate about thousand or more) and some larger tuna which is what we targeted we caught our fill and actually stopped to pursue sailfish. The 31’ hand made boat (which he and his crew built from scratch) is beautiful and quick powered with twin 300 hp well maintained Yamaha’s. After catching our fill of tuna, his crew prepared an amazing sashimi dish which was thoroughly enjoyed with a breath taking back drop of ocean and coast line. Thanks again to Pedro, Andy, Erich and Jose for a unforgettable charter experience. I Would highly recommend Luminare Sport Fishing for any of your fish charter experiences from off shore to panga shore line trips (which also had takin)

If you are looking for a charter with exceptional service and work ethic, look no further. The Luminare was probably one of the best charters I have ever been on and I have been on many. The group was with on this trip are already talking about another visit to do the overnight Marlin charter. Pedro put us on to the fish and Eddie and Jose were incredibly hard working to make it a successful one with a total of 5 larger Mahi and a giant sailfish. All of the equipment was also impressive along with the knowledge and experience this team brought to the table. We couldn’t have asked for more and we will certainly be back. We all can’t wait! A warm thank you to Pedro and his team.
