The Moonlight Lady is a 29’ Charter Fishing boat. We specialize in Striped Bass, Fluke, Porgys, Black Fish charters in the Long Island Sound; leaving from Port Washington NY. Capt. Tommy has over 40 years fishing experience in this area of Long Island and has caught Stripers to over 53 pounds locally; he is great with everyone: kids, serious anglers and beginners. “It will be an entertaining day”.

A Port Washington fishing charter with Moonlight Lady is a fun, relaxing day on the water; from young children to Grandparent – we guarantee an exciting day of reeling in some great catches!

The Moonlight Lady is a 29’ Dyer Custom Bass Boat with a “downeast style” hull and designed for comfort. She’s powered by a 210 HP Cummins Diesel engine and equipped with all modern electronics, safety equipment (including PFDs), rods, reels, and tackle. We’re always ready to fish on the Moonlight Lady!

Striped Bass goes by many names: Rockfish, Stiper, Rock, Linesider – no matter what you call it, we catch it! We’ll also target Black Seabass, Fluke, Porgy, Bluefish, and Blackfish (or Tautog). We are patient teachers to first time anglers, and satisfy the experienced angler as well – everyone goes home happy with a lifetime of memories!

All tackle, bait, rods & reels are included in the cost of your trip. We also provide fishing licenses for four passengers and will clean and bag your catch at the end of the trip. You’ll want to bring any snacks or drinks for the day, and be sure to wear layered clothing (maybe even rain gear).

Our full day trip is seven hours of fishing – and we pull in tons of great keepers! We’re fishing from April to December, so book today as we do fill up fast (especially during the summer). Come catch some Striped Bass on your New York fishing adventure aboard Moonlight Lady!

  • Weather cancellations are at your Captain’s discretion, your safety is their number one priority! You will receive a refund for any weather cancellation, or you can choose to reschedule your trip for a different date.

Trip Details

Great package for any angler, regardless of experience level. This is an 8-hour long trip that will see you catching different species at different times of the year, always giving you an authentic local experience. Among the species you can target are Tautog, Striped Bass, Flounder, Porgy, Bluefish, and Fluke.

Full Day Trip
This was our first time using Capt. Tommy and the moon light lady. The weather was great we left on time but unfortunately it was a sad fishing day. Although we didn’t catch anything that doesn’t mean that the Capt. didn’t try his damndest to find the fish for us. We constantly moved around in search of them they just weren’t biting (keep size) His first mate did an excellent job as well making sure all of our equipment was untangled when tangled and then hooks were never empty. I look forward to booking again in the future for our next trip.

June 24, 2017, Capt. Tommy Kampa of the Moonlight Lady Fishing Boat provided us with above and beyond services that not all parties would expect when they charter a fishing trip. We haggled whether or not to fish in weather we thought was just not suitable, Mr. Kampa told us we would catch fish and he left that decision up to us, we said Yes and did fish. The Rain was extreme in AM, the afternoon turned out Sunny w/clear skies, his expertise paid off. We caught Striped Bass and his hired mate Desmond, was a young and bright star that treated us like his family. Loved these guys. Book’em and they will Hook’em. We are coming back for more Bass and Blackfish. My friends and family thank you - Rich H, Joe H, Mick B, Mike B Jr., Chris R, Chris L, WTG Tommy.
