The stunning scenery here includes remote lake waters, including some spots that only a local can show you. Around here it's common to go , and that's exactly what you'll do. You can also do a bit of spinning, and maybe more your guide wants to show you. We will provide rods and reels, as well as lures (terms and conditions apply).
We strongly recommend, especially for experienced anglers, to bring your own equipment due to the scarcity of fishing equipment locally. No live bait arranged in advance - it is part of the fishing day's activity.
Your fishing safari will big from Lake Victoria where you will go out trolling for Nile perch for a full day. Africa's largest lake offers you the opportunity to hook up some of the largest freshwater fish in the world. Normally 5-25kg (11-55 pound) perch what anglers catch but there are some have found heavier fish.
From Lake Victoria, your will travel north to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda's largest. Along the way, you will stopover at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to track rhinos - one of Africa's Big 5 wildlife. This is the only place you will find rhinos in Uganda. Murchison Falls is your main destination for fishing over the stay of your safari. You will be fishing in the Nile River in the sections after the Murchison Falls. An experienced skipper-guide will be with you throughout your fishing safari.
Fishing in the Nile in Murchison Falls National Park is an incredibly enjoyable experience, especially when targeting the impressive Nile Perch and Tigerfish. Record Nile perch has weighed in at over 200 pounds (100kg) - an exciting prospect for any angler. Still, you will have a lot of fun landing different catches. Others fish species are Tilapia, Catfish, Electric Catfish, and more.
Fishing on these trips is limited to catch and release. This sport fishing policy applies to all fish caught on board our boats.
Ready to have the whole family unplug? This is a perfect bonding safari. Not only will you be fishing for monster fish, but you also have the opportunity to seek out Africa's Big 5 - lions, rhinos, buffalo, elephants, and leopards.
