Night Flight Charters is a fishing charter service dedicated to serving you with excellence. We specialize in light tackle, spin fishing, and fly-fishing in the backcountry of Marco Island, FL. Our primary goal is to bring you to a level skillful enough to have a successful day on the water.

Captain Matthew Hoover will be leading you along the way on your fishing charter adventure. Capt. Matt is a USCG licensed charter captain who has lived in the area since 1977. He is endorsed by Pathfinder and have been an Orvis endorsed guide for over eight years. Captain Matt invented some of the fly patterns that are sold by Orvis and have help spread the popularity of many fly patterns that are used on the West Coast today. In 1993, he claimed the world record for Snook on a fly in the 2-lb test tippet category. He is a fly-casting instructor and can help you become better at your game when you spend a day with him on the water. He has written feature length articles for magazines like Florida Sportsman and writes a weekly fishing column for the Marco Daily News.

Fishing with Capt. Matt will have you fishing the waters of Marco Island but could end up venturing to the fishing grounds around Goodland, Ten Thousand Island, Cape Romano, Keewaydin Island, Naples, and other locations around the eastern Everglades of Florida.

Your fishing charter trip will take place aboard a 22-ft Pathfinder boat, which comes powered by a 150 HP Yamaha 4-stroke engine. It is equipped with the latest navigational electronics, which include a GPS, a VHF radio, and a fish finder. The vessel is wheelchair accessible and is fitted with a Motorguide Xi5 pinpoint wireless trolling motor for a quiet ride, a 10-ft Blade Power-Pole anchor to help you stay rooted to the fishing grounds, and a live bait tank. On board, there is enough fishing space for up to three guests. The boat drafts 8 to 10 inches of water.

Our trips use Loomis rods and Daiwa spinning reels with ten-pound test line for Snook, Redfish and Trout. If you have never caught a Snook or Redfish, we can promise you that ten-pound test is on the fringe of light tackle. We supply bait, a fishing license, and all the tackle you will need. We also supply ice and bottled water. You should bring any other food or drinks you care to consume. There is a cooler on board for any provisions you bring.

The Ten Thousand Islands is a nursery to many inshore and offshore species of fish. The list of species is too long to give proper mention. We target Snook, Redfish, Trout, and Tarpon. Don't be surprised if you catch large Jack Crevalle, Sharks, Goliath Grouper or even a Gag Grouper.

Here at Night Flight Fishing Charters with Captain Matthew Hoover, our aim is to provide you with the best fishing trip possible. Join us for a safe, fun, and productive day out on the water!

3/4 Day Trip
Truly an amazing trip. Captain Matt put us on the fish and kept us hooked up all day. My son caught the slam with a redfish, speckled trout, and snook. He caught 14 fish and 8 different species. Oh, and the one that got away was huge. Captain Matt was a pleasure and it was a day of fishing we won’t soon forget. Thanks Captain!
