Captain Donavan and his crew have been fishing these waters for years and enjoy sharing their knowledge with anglers of all ages and skill levels. Their enthusiasm for fishing is sure to entertain you during your South African fishing adventure.
Captain Donavan looks forward to welcoming you aboard the “Ocean Life”, a 28’ Carry Cat powered by twin Yamaha 130HP engines. She comes equipped with the latest navigation electronics all safety gear is certified and maintained to the highest standard.
There are a variety of options for you to choose from since they offer reef, inshore, and offshore South Africa fishing charters. On the inshore trips you will target species such as Yellowtail Kingfish, Cape Snoek, and Bonitos. The offshore trips are full day and target Yellowfin Tuna, Bigeye Tuna, Longfin/Albacore Tuna and Mahi Mahi. If you would like to try reef fishing, you will be targeting Red Roman, Cape Bream, Kob, and Rockfish. All Ocean Life Fishing Charters include top of the line rods, reels, tackle, lures and fresh or live bait. During your fishing adventure you will get to see the diverse marine life such as whales, dolphins, penguins and sharks that call Cape Town, South Africa home.
Ocean Life Fishing Charters is an environmentally friendly charter and they try to tag and release fish whenever possible for the South African Oceanographic Research Institute. You have the option to keep your catch, which the crew will clean for you. Or you can choose to tag and release it for research purposes and be notified once recaptured.

Head out past the magnificent Cape Point to the world-class Tuna grounds beyond. Target massive Yellowfin Tuna and other Tuna species like Longfin/Albacore, Bigeye, Skipjack, and Bonito, as well as Dorado/Mahi Mahi. En-route to the Tuna fishing grounds, there is also a good chance of catching Yellowtail Kingfish! We can accommodate up to 4 guests fishing but recommend 3 for the most comfort! Spearfishers bringing their own equipment can also be accommodated by prior arrangement.
