Situated behind the famed Outer Banks of NC, from early July until late Oct., the redfish & tarpon migration begins as these incredible sportfish come to spawn in this extraordinary estuary. Captain Dave Hegel has been fishing these waters since 1984 and welcomes year-round fishing options including redfish, tarpon, bluefish, black drum, sea trout, flounder & striped bass to name a few. The "Skiplett" is a 2021 23' foot Boca Bay (AquaSport) with a 300hp Suzuki outboard, T-Top, two aerated live wells, a 36 Volt Rip Tide trolling motor, coolers and state of the art Simrad depth finder, Capt. Dave will focus your adventure on the Neuse River and the Pamlico Sound. From July until Oct, the "Bull drum" and tarpon migration is world class and offers a chance to target world record redfish and Atlantic Tarpon as the area is famed for domination on the size of the redfish and rolling tarpon in the Pamlico Sound. The rest of the year, Captain Dave targets Slot Drum, Puppy Drum, Striped Bass, Flounder and Sea Trout. Pamlico Pirate Fishing Charters is based in the Coastal NC town of Oriental, NC which has mild winters and the striper and sea trout fishing in the winter can be incredible. If you want to experience the legendary Pamlico Sound, Captain Dave has been in the fishing and boat business all his life and his stories about Denny Brauer, Larry Nixon, Davy Hite, George Poveromo, Mark Sosin & many other legendary anglers will entertain you all day.
