Fishing in Traverse City, good lake trout catches are common all season. From mid-August to early October the salmon fishing on the Grand Traverse Bays is fantastic! Charters are available for morning, afternoon & evening trips.
The vessel, “Prime Time”, is DNR inspected and has all the required USCG safety equipment for your trip. She’s equipped with modern electronics and a downrigger to assist with trolling. Onboard you’ll find a refrigerator to store your food and water, and a toilet if the need to take a break arises. The boat is also accessible for wheelchairs.
Captain Jerry and First Mate will work hard to guide your crew to a memorable and fun day of fishing. They have experience fishing Lake Michigan and Grand Traverse Bay and can get you on the fish. Our specialty is trolling, which is a technique of trailing bait behind our moving boat. Speed is a huge factor in trolling success, and the crew of Prime Time Fishing Charters have perfected this technique so that you will be reeling in some great catches!
Trips are either half day morning/afternoon or full day for six passengers. Captain Jerry will provide all the gear and tackle, and is happy to clean any harvested fish at the end of the trip. Your group will need to bring a Michigan fishing license for each angler, as well as any food or drinks for the day. You’re welcome to bring a small cooler onboard, and don’t forget a sealable bag for your personal items. We also recommend wearing warm clothing or rain gear, depending on the weather.

Weather cancellations are at your Captain’s discretion, your safety is their number one priority! You will receive a refund for any weather cancellation, or you can choose to reschedule your trip for a different date.
