If you’re looking to target Sailfish, you’ll be happy to hear that they’re caught consistently year-round. January-April does tend to be the peak season, but we’re talking about a difference landing 8+ sailfish on a trip during peak seasons versus 2+ Sailfish during the “slow” seasons. Quepos has also earned the reputation as being one of the hottest Costa Rican destinations for anglers looking to catch one of the three West Coast species of Marlin: Blue Marlin, Striped Marlin, and Black Marlin. The peak months to catch Marlin are from September-November. May is also one of the top months, with June-August also being “Good” months.
