Once you see our boat – you’ll know why we’re recognized as the Shark boat! The beautiful vessel is 32ft long with 320 HP – with an awesome shark jaw on the bow!

Captain Desmond Starling is at the helm and will captain your crew to an incredible day of Carolina Beach, North Carolina fishing. Fish we catch include Mackerels, Sea Bass, Grouper, Banded Rudderfish, Triggerfish, Barracudas, Sailfish, Mahi Mahi, and Sharks. We can go bottom fishing, trolling, spinning, deep sea fishing, or light tackle fishing. Depending on where we go and what you’re looking to catch will determine technique. Season will also decide a few things for us… the Captain will decide what is best for a successful day of fishing.

Captain Desmond offers half day and full day fishing excursions. Included in trip price is your fishing license, rods, reels, tackle, bait, and lures. You’ll want to bring small cooler with food and drinks, sunglasses & hat, sunscreen, and your camera. Whether this is your first trip with Reel 2 Grill Fishing Charters, or you’re a return customer, we look forward to fishing with you!

Reel 2 Grill Fishing Charters operates a 32foot Thompson Marine center console that was overhauled in 2010. It has all modern electronics, technologies, and comforts of home (including toilet for your convenience). Our First Mate will help with all your fishing needs, including hooking the bait, casting if needed, and dehooking the catch. Mates work for gratuity and appreciate tips for their effort (15-20% is norm).

  • Weather cancellations are at your Captain’s discretion, your safety is their number one priority! You will receive a refund for any weather cancellation, or you can choose to reschedule your trip for a different date.

This is a great way to introduce kids to fishing. We will anchor the boat on a nearshore reef and drop to the bottom to see what’s around. Catches include Black Sea Bass, Grey Trout, Flounder, Ringtail, Oyster Toadfish, and Sharks! This trip is for someone who wants to catch a variety of fish but does not want to take many fish home to eat.

Trip Details

Add a few more hours to your time on the water and check more spots. You will be trolling up to 15 miles offshore, targeting Mahi Mahi, Albacore, and King Mackerel. We also have the option to live bait fish for Amberjack aka "reef donkeys". This fish will have your arms sore for days!

4 Hour – Reef Fishing (PM)
Captain Desman took myself, my wife and two young boys (ages 4 and 7) fishing. We had free easy parking at the dock and the boat was easy to find. The captain took us to a great spot where the boys were able to catch a ton of fish which kept them engaged. My youngest caught roughly 20 fish and a baby shark. He fished the entire time because they were right there to take the fish off the hook, and to add bait. We were at a great spot where the kids constant had bites/fish. He was great with the kids and helped teach them about the fish/shark and helped them hold the fish. My biggest goal was to catch a shark. He knew exactly what to do and we hooked 3 sharks and caught one of them and got it on the boat. Overall, the trip was a success and we definitely recommend.
