Our professional and courteous crew will work hard to put you where the bite is hot on all of your trips with us. We are very family-friendly and invite anglers of all ages and skill level to join us for a day of Sheboygan fishing!

Captain James Schlegel or one of his experienced captains will be guiding you on your Wisconsin fishing adventure. Captain James has been running Lake Michigan fishing charters for over 3 decades. He takes your safety and happiness very seriously and nothing makes him happier than leading his passengers to the catch of a lifetime on his Sheboygan fishing trips. He and his crew are always happy to help you out with anything you may need and answer any questions you may have for them.

Our fishing charters begin in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Capt. James will want to put you right where the fish are biting. You may end up exploring the nearby waters of Mosel, Haven, Oostburg, and many other exciting locations along the East shores of Wisconsin on Lake Michigan.

All the excitement begins the minute you hop aboard our gorgeous 34ft Luhrs Sport Fisherman. No other boat does Lake Michigan fishing charters like this one! Her set of 340hp Crusader engines will power us to all the fishing hotspots quickly and comfortably. This vessel features downriggers, outriggers, an air-conditioned cabin, a TV, refrigerator, kitchen, bed, shower, toilet, and all the latest fish finding technologies. You and 5 of your close friends or family members will have plenty of room to enjoy first-class Sheboygan fishing!

We offer 3, 5, and 10 hours fishing trips covering Lake Michigan. Our trips run from May 1st thru October 15th. You are provided with rods, reels, tackle, lures, and bait on each of your trips with us. You will need a fishing license prior to the start of the trip. After the trip, we will clean and package any catch you are able to keep.

The fishing opportunities on Lake Michigan are endless and we will strive to make sure you take full advantage of the excellent fishing here. Some of the species we love to chase after on our Lake Michigan fishing charters include Brown Trout, Lake Trout, Coho Salmon, Rainbow Trout, and King Salmon.

This trip gives you the most time to experience Lake Michigan at its finest. Explore honey holes that hold Rainbow, Lake, and Brown Trout, as well as Chinook and Coho. Capt. James will supply the fishing gear, but you need to purchase the fishing license.

Half Day Trip (PM)
We were originally set to fish on Thursday June 24th, my husbands 75th birthday. Due to harsh weather and hazards for boating, we rescheduled for… Sunday. This worked out great… as it allowed more time to explore Wisconsin, especially Green Bay where our Packers reside. Come Sunday morning, at 4:30 am we were off to fish the great Lake Michigan. We were greeted by the most gracious captain and first mate. What a wonderful experience they provided for us. My husband and I are well into our senior years, and I must admit not skilled in the art of fishing on a large water lake, on a foggy morning. Captain was especially careful to provide for our safety and enjoyment, even as we were covered with a blanket of fog. Out came the fishing rods and lures of all shapes and sized. First mate Tim was moving about with genuine talent for setting up our day for fishing. Not long after setting the lines, we had a bite. Tim and Jim called out my name, encouraging me to bring in the big one. WOW, the adrenalin was pumping, they cheered me on….when about to give in they kept cheering….and I did it I brought in my first ever salmon. I was ecstatic !!! Not much longer, another bite…Jim called out and again there I was reeling in another. This time a rainbow trout. Boy it seemed like the biggest fish I ever saw. No more then reeling it in…another bite. This time my husband Bruce was cheered on. Somewhat reluctant, with some concerns for his balance as the boat rocked in the waves, he stood up to the task. I grabbed his belt loop and Tim was close by to assure his safety, and we all cheered Bruce on. All on the boat were excitedly encouraging Bruce to reel…reel….reel, faster….faster…faster. And finally, up surfaced a big beautiful lake trout. It was a beauty…We all cheered again at the catch. They day continued with several more bites, unfortunately Bruce and lost a few, leaving them for another day, another time. I did manage to bring in another good sized rainbow trout. As the morning moved closer to the end of our excursion. Jim and Tim shared tales of their life on the lake, growing up in Wisconsin and family times with loved ones. They made for a very personal experience along with a delightful fishing day. OH YES Sea Dog Sportfishing Charters is the way to go…Just don’t forget to bring the warm home baked banana muffins. Really enjoyed our afternoon on the water with Sea Dog Sportfishing. Captain and first mate were great and kept our children ages 6 and 12 entertained when the fishing was slow. We brought home three nice lake trout. Local fish cleaner at the dock had 13lbs of fillets ready to take in home in just a few minutes. Would have like to see some more fish, but that’s why they call it fishing, not catching. Captain and first mate did their part to get us on the fish. Would recommend Sea Dog to anyone!
