Throughout his younger years, he participated in youth fishing clubs, high school fishing teams, and was part of Troy University's saltwater fishing team where he placed 3rd in the "College Saltwater National Fishing Championship." He graduated from Troy University with a B.S. in K-12 Physical Education.
