A day on the water with Southern Mayhem Fishing Charters has endless opportunities. Ever since Capt. Cole Mcdade was a young boy he has been fascinated in the pursuit of fish of all kinds. He was fortunate to have a father that has always had the same passion for fishing that he had, and he has passed on a wealth of knowledge that Capt. Cole looks forward to passing on to other young anglers. Southern Mayhem Fishing Charters welcomes you to the abundant waters of Cocoa Beach to enjoy the waters Capt. Cole is devoted to.

Growing up in the space coast area, Capt. Cole has always had a plethora of opportunities to fish. Whether it was riding his bike to nearby ponds, having his parents drop him off with his skiff in the lagoon, fishing offshore for pelagic fish with his father, or fishing at the Sebastian Inlet with his friends, he would capitalize on any opportunity he had to fish. He’s spent much of his childhood learning about the diverse fishery the Indian River Lagoon and Banana River Lagoon have to offer. As his skills and knowledge about the sport grew, Capt. Cole realized that he would love to pass on his knowledge to others, and show them the amazing inshore fishery the Space Coast has to offer.

When fishing inshore, Capt. Cole’s favorite way to target the game fish of the Space Coast area is to focus on fishing structures. This has proven to be an effective method for finding quality fish in any water conditions, meaning that no matter how murky, or choppy the water may be, you can almost always count on certain structures holding fish. This style of fishing also has a certain level of excitement of the unknown, as you never know if a big snook, redfish, or trout may come out of a particular mangrove or dock.

Depending on the season, weather conditions, and what species you would like to focus on targeting, Southern Mayhem Fishing Charters can put you on fish from up to five miles out of Port Canaveral to deep in the Thousand Islands area of Cocoa Beach. One of the things that is unique about Southern Mayhem Fishing Charters is Captain Cole’s versatility in locations to fish. Places we fish include the Indian River Lagoon, Banana River Lagoon, Sebastian Inlet, Port Canaveral, and the beaches in between. Here in the Space Coast, each season presents new and exciting opportunities. When Fishing in the Indian River or Banana River Lagoon, Capt. Cole prefers to focus on structure, pitching artificial and live bait to docks, mangroves, and other structures within the river. This tactic typically provides trophy snook, redfish, trout, and tarpon year round.

This way of fishing also comes with the excitement of the unknown. You never know when a huge snook or redfish is going to come blowing out of a mangrove, and explode on your bait! In the winter time and spring time, the water quality in both lagoons typically improves, which allows for some exciting sight fishing for monster reds in the Cocoa Beach area. During the spring, you’ll have the chance to sight fish triple-tail and Cobia out of Port Canaveral. The near coastal waters of Port Canaveral can provide for some very exciting fishing during the spring season, as snook, triple-tail, and Cobia typically inhabit these waters.

I’m down in Fla. From NY and I had a great experience with captain Cole. We had a bit of a rough day fishing but he had us on fish and getting hits. I gave him a 5 star rating because he was professional and really worked hard to get us fish. I myself take people on charters in NY and captain Cole is a up and comming charter captain you will not be disappointed with. Thank you for a great day on the water Captain Cole.
