Captain Cody Cristello is the owner and operator of Straw Hats Fishing Charters in Port Charlotte, Florida. He was born to charter captains in the Keys and he’s fished his whole life, gaining multiple years of experience. Captain Cody has been guiding fishing trips out of the Charlotte Harbor, Boca Grande, Englewood, and Pine Island for over 10 years. He has worked tournaments and guided families and he looks forward to fishing with you and your guests. Your trip will take place on a 26’ center console powered by a 300HP Yamaha engine. She has brand new equipment like fish finding equipment that will aid you in your search for fish. The wireless trolling motor will have you creeping up on your prey and the live well will store your fresh bait for day out with Straw Hats Fishing Charters. All USCG approved safety gear is on board as well. Captain Cody welcomes up to 6 guests including children and anglers of all skill level. while the captain will provide water and chips to keep you energized. You and your guests will be using top of the line rods, reel, tackle, and lures. Captain Cody will provide the fresh bait for your trip as well as the fishing license for you and all of your guests. He also provides but you are welcome to bring your own drinks and snacks. Captain Cody invites you for a fishing adventure on the waters of the Suncoast. You and your guests will hit the inshore and nearshore waters to go after Black Drum, Many species of Grouper and Snapper, Ladyfish, Porgy, Bonito, Barracuda, Cobia, Redfish, Sheepshead, Tarpon, King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Mahi Mahi, Tripletail, and Snook. At the end of your trip with Straw Hats Fishing Charters, Captain Cody will clean and fillet your catch to take home to enjoy. Head up the Peace River for some thrilling brackish fishing action. Explore 15 miles of river banks that play home to plenty of exciting fish. Go up against Jacks, Redfish, and Bass. You'll stop at Navigator to take a nice hearty awesome lunch/bathroom break before we head on and continue the adventure.

3/4 Day Trip- Family Trip

You will spend the first 2 and a half hours targeting fish that bite easily and quickly to keep your children entertained and engaged. The last 1 and a half hours will be spent along the beach or small islands in the bay looking for sharks teeth and shells or a restaurant in the area with the best dining and scenery to offer. After that, to finalize the 7 hours total on the water, you will spend the rest of the time fishing for whatever is biting best at the time of the year.

Half day trip with Captain Cody was excellent. Early in the morning Cody was able to travel faster because the waves were a little smaller. As the day progressed and the waves get bigger he traveled a little slower. Cody put us on fish right away. He hustled to keep bait on our hooks and to remove our fish. Cody is knowledgeable and friendly; willing to share his knowledge and experience. He was quick to clean our fish when we returned. Thank you Cody for excellent time on the water.
