Master Captain Mike “Moke” Mochan was born and raised along the shores of Lake Erie and started fishing at eight years old for perch and as a teenager roamed the rivers for steelhead. Captain Moke has been chasing Walleyes through the ice for 30 years and started trolling Lake Erie more than 20 years ago. As a tournament angler, Captain Moke won the prestigious 2017 Cabella’s National Walleye Tour Tournament on Lake Erie. Captain Moke is a member of the National Professional Anglers Association. After spending years and years on Lake Erie with friends and the last five with his First Mate and 10-year-old son, Jack, he fulfilled a life-long dream and started Strikemaster Charters Lake Erie- Lorain. This allows him to share his passion and love of Lake Erie with others.
Captain Moke skippers a 21' Bass Boat with dual 350HP Suzuki engines. His boat is outfitted with downriggers, a wireless trolling motor, a live well for fresh bait, and the casting platform is big enough for 4 anglers to move around with ease. USCG approved safety gear is also on board as well as a CPR trained crew. A GPS and fish finder will ensure you spend more time on the fish instead of looking for them. Captain Moke offers a cooler to store your beverages and snacks. He welcomes children of all ages and anglers of all skill level on your trip with Strikemaster Charters Lake Erie- Lorain.

Come fish Lake Erie with Cabela’s National Walleye Tournament winner Master Capt Mike Mochan on the “Walleye Capital of the World” Lake Erie.
Captain Mike(Moke)has been fishing the waters of Lake Erie for over 40 years catch trophy Walleyes.
Capt Moke also has worked as a firefighter/paramedic veteran in the Cleveland area for 35 yrs. plus he reg competes in walleye fishing tournaments. In 2017 Capt Moke won the prestigious Cabela’s National Walleye Tour Tournament on Lake Erie. You will be in safe hands and fish with someone who knows Lake Erie.
You will join Capt Moke aboard his 2019 21’ Warrior multi species boat. It’s powered by a 350Hp Suzuki outboard and a 15 Hp Kicker for slow speeds. The boat also has state of art electronics ,VHS radio and has all required USCG safety equipment.
The captain will provide all fishing gear, rods , reels and bait. You will need to bring a Ohio Fishing License, lunch, drinks ( beer is ok) rain gear, sunscreen, camera, sunglasses , a cap, a cooler with ice to take your fish home, as well as motion sickness medication.
Capt Moke specialization is father -son trips and last minute trips.

This walleye full day trip runs 6 hrs or limits and is a great to spend the day on the water. We will be chasing trophy walleye and will pick up an occasion steelhead or Catfish.
Bring a cooler of drinks ( beer ok) , lunch and some snacks for the day.
You should bring rain gear ,a cap, sunscreen, sunglasses, camera and ice in cooler to take fish home.
All fishing rods , reels, and bait provided.

Teaching Trolling 101

New to trolling or just want that edge to help put more fish in the boat? Then this is a perfect trip for "hands on", take notes and put all the pieces together about trolling. Capt. Moke will take the time to explain the "why's" of trolling. I also do this trip with jigging the reef complex for those spunky males.
This is a 2 person charter and is very relaxing so you get the most out of it while on the water.
I get many requests for teaching charters throughout the year, so I put together a learning charter to increase your knowledge about trolling or jigging.

This trip is for people who want to fish offshore and chase Steelhead in the deep offshore waters of Lake Erie. We will also be targeting trophy walleye while searching for Steelhead.
This trip is only available from July to December.
The steehead are very strong and active at this time and tend to jump out of the water while fighting them. This will get your heart pumping and always brings smiles. Let’s go fishing!
