Captain Chris Neugin is a born and raised lifetime local. Growing up in a house on Boggy Bayou, part of Choctawhatchee Bay, instilled a deep passion for the water and fishing. He got his first small boat at the age of 12, which he and his friends used to fish every piece of water between Pensacola and Panama City. From there, he started his first job at age 14 as a deckhand on the Destin fishing vessel Lady Evinthia, the sister ship to the New Florida Girl which still operates today. At age 18 he obtained his OUPV (6-Pack) Captains License and began guiding for Back Country Outfitters in Destin. He worked as a parasail and fishing captain for the next few years during the summers while in college at Embry Riddle in Daytona Beach, FL where he graduated with a degree in Aeronautical Science. At age 21, he upgraded his license to a 100 Ton Master Captain with an endorsement for Sail and Assistance Towing. When college was over, he continued down a dual career path, working as a flight instructor on Eglin AFB, and freelancing as a Captain for the Destin fishing fleet.
