3/4 Day Trip – Nearshore
Our kids (15, 12, 11, and 8) have long been requesting a sea fishing outing so we booked the 6 hour near offshore outing with Talon Sportfishing Charters and had a great day! The boat was clean; the captain and first mate were friendly, skilled, and great with the kids; and we caught a lot of fish. They found us a hot spot for ribbon fish and we caught 18, but then the kids requested to try something else and the captain was happy to accommodate. We didn’t manage to catch anything else, but all had a great time exploring and we had more than enough fish for several meals. Great boat, crew, and experience. Would recommend.

3/4 Day Trip – Nearshore
Captain arrived on time and pre-meet communication was accurate and adequate. Fishing had been poor by multiple reports leading up to the trip. We ended up landing 16 ribbon fish. Unfortunately we didn’t get any other species despite their best efforts. This was more action than they had seen in a week apparently. The boat very comfortably accommodated six. The toilet was adequate and clean. Virginia Beach(Rudee Inlet) has a fish cleaning service, they were absent from their post which delayed us at departure. This was no fault of the captain/mate. I would not hesitate to go out with Captain Dave on Talon Charters again.

We booked this fishing trip with the hopes of catching some larger fish without booking the longer trips available. Our party consisted of three dads and their two sons.
Captain Dave and his first mate, Gunner, did not disappoint. After catching our share of Spanish Mackerel and a cooler full of Ribbon fish, the excitement of the trip was still ahead. Captain Dave got us on some Drum fish and thanks to Gunner, the action was fast and furious.
The Drum fish were an absolute blast. They were the big fish we had hoped for.
It was truly a memorable experience for the entire group. We will definitely consider this trip for our next vacation in Virginia Beach!
