Join the Tamarindo Charter Company and Captain Lee Keidel as he guides you on a Tamarindo fishing charter you won’t soon forget!
Tamarindo, Costa Rica boasts one of the heathiest populations of Billfish found anywhere in the world. Sailfish and all three species of Marlin (Striped Marlin, Black Marlin, and Blue Marlin) are caught 365 days a year! Of course, there are peak seasons to catch each species. Black Marlin tend to be caught most frequently in the months of April and May. Blue Marlin are known to be caught in higher volumes during the months from November-April, with their smaller cousin, the Striped Marlin, being caught year-round. Sailfish are another species of Billfish that draw thousands of anglers to Tamarindo’s marinas year after year. Sailfish experience their peak season from December-March. February is absolutely THE best month to catch Sailfish while fishing out of Tamarindo, Costa Rica. During February, hooking up on 20-30 Sailfish a day isn’t unheard of!
At the helm of charter boat Bachata, you’ll find Captain Lee Keidel. He was born and raised in South Carolina and graduated from Chapman’s School of Seamanship.
