Our crew is fishing every day and work with other local fisherman to find the most productive areas to target some of California’s most sought after fish species. We encourage you to enjoy yourself while we work to keep fish coming in the boat! We welcome anglers of all ages and experience level to join us for a great day of Northern California fishing!

Captain Nelson Vineyard will be leading the way on your fishing adventure. Capt. Nelson grew up fishing and boating and developed a strong passion for being out on the water. He began running Northern California fishing trips so he could share that passion with other enthusiastic anglers. He has over 2 decades of experience fishing in California and has extensive knowledge of the local waterways. Capt. Nelson loves to meet new people, and nothing makes him happier than seeing the smiles on his clients face when they reel in a prize catch.

Our fishing charters can cover multiple locations around Central and Northern California. We can fish the beautiful Lake Berryessa or cruise along the Sacramento River. We are not limited to one location.

All the excitement begins the moment you board our beautiful 23ft Thunder Jet sport fisher. This boat is perfect for all types of Northern California fishing! Her 115 hp Suzuki engine will provide safe and steady travel to all the fishing spots. On deck, you will find features such as GPS, a wireless trolling motor, downriggers, all the required safety gear, and all the latest fish finding technologies. You and 3 of your friends or family members will have plenty of room to experience Northern California fishing!

We offer 8 hours fishing trips covering a wide array of locations around California. We will provide you with rods, reels, tackle, lures, and bait.

After the trip, we will clean and package any catch you are able to keep at no extra charge

The state of California offers excellent fishing opportunities and the fish here do not disappoint! Some of the species we love to chase after on our trips include Halibut, Sturgeon, Steelhead, Striped Bass, King Salmon, Rainbow Trout, and Cod.

Full Day Trip
Bottom line is: Topline Sport Fishing is the place to go for your next charter!!! When we arrived at the marina, Captain Nelson and his deck hand were ready for us. They were extremely well organized and clearly had done their homework on where we had a chance to catch some fish. In less than two hours, all four of us limited out. He provided us informative instruction before we left the marina and kept us involved in all parts of fishing experience. He and his deck hand worked very hard and were very organized, especially when we had three fish on separate lines at the same time!!!! We highly recommend using Topline Sport Fishing and can’t wait to schedule another charter. Thanks for a great day of fishing!!

half day morning
Boat is very clean, maintained and well-equipped. All top of the line rod, reels, and tackle. Nelson and crew are easy going, professional, knowledgeable and fun to hang out with on the water. Despite some windy weather, Nelson worked hard to find calmer water which ended up being very productive for us. He put us on 11 Stripers on a half day trip and doesn’t count minutes! Very much enjoyed the trip and will be using Nelson again. Highly recommended.

Full Day trip with my family
From the moment we left the dock Capt. Nelson and L J were on their game. I brought my son and 2 grandsons ( 13 and 5 ) . Both Nelson and L J treated the boys like young men. They explained to all of us what the plan would be for the day . L J got to work right away getting all the rigs set up and in the water. To be honest , it wasn’t the best day to fish but that’s not Capt. Nelson or L J’s fault . The water was very dirty with a lot of weeds and debris through out the river . Also , due to all the fires in Northern Ca. the smoke was pretty bad . We caught 4 , lost 1 , ( Striped Bass ) and never got a hit for Salmon. Capt. Nelson and L J tried all the tricks in the book to get us our limit and never stopped working . We still did better than all the other boats out there . Overall , Capt. Nelson and L J were great and I would definitely use them again . I also have some advise for 1st timers and those who are taking young children . Do your homework on what kind of fishing you want to do. When you troll for Striped Bass and Salmon , the deck hand does all the work getting the rigs in the water, you pretty much just sit there until there’s a strike and then you can reel in the Striped Bass . That’s just fine for old guys like me but young boys want more action . They want to be more involved . They want to cast , feel the fish bite and reel them in. The next fishing trip I set up ( when I take the boys ) I will fish for Large Mouth Bass , Catfish and Crappie . This does not mean I would expect more fish caught , but the boys would have more fun being more active. The boys said they had a good time and wanted to go again . That’s the most important thing .
