I am Captain Darryl and grew up in Florida and California. I have been fishing and scuba diving my entire life. I have worked on boats, fishing and and pulling lobster traps. My boat is built unsinkable and is fairly new, but has been offshore many times, even to the Bahamas. We have all the safety equipment required, as well as EPIRB and a satellite phone.
We want you to have a very fun time, catching quality fish and getting great photos and video....

We leave Santa Barbara early from the ramp and go directly to quality rockfish and lingcod spots, as deep as 350 ft. We then move into shallower depths from 170 to 70 ft. for whitefish, California sheephead, Lingcod, and other rockfish. We provide squid for bait mostly, as that is very effective, but jigging is allowed, if you prefer. You will want to use good conventional rods and reels, at least 30 lb test. We can rig your double dropper loops with 2/0 to 5/0 hooks and 12 to 16 ounce weights. If you need a rod and reel to use, that is no problem. Water and cokes will be provided. You can bring whatever drinks and food for lunch you prefer, but no coolers. We have ice and storage on board for your lunches. We will be returning to the docks around 4 pm.
All fishing gear is included on this trip but you're welcome to bring your own rods. Please be aware of your ability to handle being in the ocean and take precautions for seasickness. If you don't know if you get seasick or not, you may want to experiment on a shorter trip.
