Owned and operated by Captain Rico Wasabi, a United States’ Marine veteran having served two tours in Viet Nam. He retired from the Marines and re-located to Playa del Carmen where he’s been running the top charter fleet since 2008. The Wasabi Loco Sportfishing Adventure team has multiple Professional, Insured, and Tournament winning Captains ready to put you on an offshore trip your friends back home won’t believe.
The 32’ Blackfin Sportfishing yacht is spacious enough to fish a maximum of 6 anglers comfortably. She’s outfitted with top of the line fishing gear, including a GPS, FishFinder, Livewell, and a seasoned First Mate. The crew does speak both English and Spanish and will work with everyone on board to make sure you’re comfortable with the fishing techniques needed to land that 300lb Marlin!
You’ll have the option to bottom fish, troll, or try your hand at both on your trip with the Wasabi Loco Sportfishing Adventure team. The longer trip times allow Capt. Rico and his team to venture further off the coast to grounds with the least amount of fishing pressure, meaning more trophy fish for you! Trolling and bottom fishing will both yield different fish species, but both techniques are exhilarating.
While bottom fishing, you can expect to catch a range of Grouper, Snapper, Barracuda, Sharks, and more. You’ll land pelagic predators such as Mahi Mahi, White Marlin, Blue Marlin, Sailfish, Yellowfin Tuna, and Wahoo while Trolling. On the longer trips, we’ll have no problem switching up the fishing techniques! The fish are biting 12 months out of the year, with each month experiencing its own peak season… Regardless of when you’re planning your trip, we’ll be sending you back to the dock with the freshest fillets you’ll ever get your hands on!
