Captain Diego Cordova owns and operates Flat Out Sportfishing in Marathon, Florida. He has over three decades of fishing experience, both commercially and recreationally. He is a native of Cuba and comes from a long line of fisherman, dating back to the 1920’s. His family passed down their fishing knowledge and experience to Capt. Diego, allowing him to hone his craft and continue the tradition of flats fishing with his own children.
Captain Diego skippers a brand new 24’ Bay Boat. His vessel is powered by a 250HP Yamaha engine with power poles, a live well for keeping your bait fresh, and a wireless trolling motor allowing you to sneak up on your prey. The casting platform has plenty of room for 4 anglers to fish at the same time. A GPS and fish finder round out the electronics on Captain Diego’s boat. USCG approved safety equipment and a VHF radio are also on board as well as a cooler.
Captain Diego will supply you and your guests with top notch rods, reels, tackle, and lures. Fly fishing equipment is also available. The fresh bait and the fishing license for you and all of your guests is included on your trip with Flat Out Sportfishing. Capt. Diego will guide you and your guests in search for the illusive Bonefish, Permit, Tarpon, and many other flats species you may encounter. He’ll also have you and your guests targeting Mangrove Snapper, Pompano, Sharks, Spanish Mackerel, Jack Crevalle, Grouper, Barracuda, Bluefish, Grouper, and Cobia. Captain Diego is very patient and experienced in many different fishing methods. He’ll help you fine tune your fishing technique on how to be an aggressive angler when the opportunity presents itself.
