Half Day Morning Trip
My brother wanted to do some deep sea fishing for part of his bachelor party and I chose to book with Captain Mike after reading his reviews. He definitely went above and beyond to meet our expectations. When we first got on the boat he asked if we wanted to target game fish or if we wanted to catch fish to eat. We chose to target game fish and took a short trip out to a spot that he recommended. He was very thorough in giving us information and answering cheesy tourist questions like “how much do you think that huge shiny yacht costs?”. Right off the bat we got a huge hit that took all the bait. He gave us some guesses about what he thought it might be. But I don’t think anyone expected what we pulled up. The bachelor boy got the first try and after fighting hard a huge golden nurse shark pupped up to the surface and the boat went crazy! It was awesome to see such a huge and in our opinion unique fish as our first catch. We all go chances to touch its rough skin before letting it go back. A little time later we caught another slightly smaller nurse shark and this time he showed us how to catch the sucker fish attached to it which was another awesome experience. We will definitely book with Captain Mike anytime we go fishing in Ft. Lauderdale.

4 Hour Trip (AM)
Scheduled a half day trip after arriving in port from a cruise. The weather was not very pleasant. With over 20 mph winds kicking up the waves. We decided to remain in protected water for the morning. We trolled around the river and canals. We had consistent action all morning for my 16 year old son. Over all we had about a dozen hits on the surface. A couple of barracuda strikes, a couple of tarpon strikes and jacks. Very exciting with the bait only a few feet behind the boat. A unique experience fighting fish in such confined spaces, and sometimes with an audience. At the end of the day we lost a few fish and boated 4 jacks and had a great time. Thanks guys. Maybe next time the weather will cooperate.

The trip was awesome. The crew knew what they were doing and we were able to enjoy the entire time. Patience is key and the crew educated and assisted us with every fishing need while out to sea. Definitely would do it again.
